Early life:

Venus Ebony Starr Williams was born June 17, 1980 at Lynwood, California, in the home of Richard Williams.

She was an American professional tennis player. A precursor to world No. 1 in both singles and doubles, Williams has won five at Wimbledon, seven Grand Slam singles titles and two at the US Open. She is respected as one of the all-time greats of the sport.

When Venus was seven years old, her talent for tennis was judged by a local tennis player Tony Chesta and he immidiatily recognized her potential in sport. 

Career:

In 1994, she started her professional career in tennis, in 1995 Williams was ranked no.1 in United states tennis association and also among 12 players of southren California.

1997 was the first great moment for her when she came to the final of the U.S Open. In 2000 and 2001 she won the Wimbledon and U.S Open respectively. In 2000 Venus won the Sydney Olympics title. She got the World No. 1 ranking in singles on 25 February 2002. In the Open era she became the First African-American women and after Althea Gibson second in all time.

In 2002 and 2003 she reached four major titles continousely but she lost to her younger sister Serena williams. After that she suffered from injuries and hence she won one major title from 2003 to 2006.

In 2007, after Williams came back to tennis, she won Wimbledon to defeat her sister Serena Williams. 

 In 2010, she ranked world No. 2 in singles, while Venus again suffered from injuries.

At the start of 2014, she again made her appearnce at the great level when she won Australian Open and in 2017 she won wimbeldon. 

Although she won seven major titles in singles, it doesn’t mean she is not good in doubles.

Venus Williams has also won fourteen doubles; in the partnership of her younger sister Serena Williams. On 7th June, 2010 she was ranked as world’s No. 1 in doubles when the pair was unbeaten in Grand Slam doubles finals in French Open. 

Williams sisters pair also won gold medal in 2000, 2008 and 2012 Olympics 

Venus Williams also won a silver medal in mixed doubles 2016. Venus also won two mixed double major titles in 1998.

Venus williams vs Serena Williams:

Venus has played young Serena in 31 professional matches since 1998. Overall, Venus has won 12 of those matches and Serena Williams has won 19. They’ve met in 15 Grand Slam events, with Venus Williams winning five matches to her family Serena’s ten. They’ve met in nine Grand Slam event tests, with Venus winning doubly. Of the six occasions where they met in an earlier round, the victor has gone on to win the crown four times( Venus formerly, in the 2000 Wimbledon Crowns).

Beginning with the 2002 French Open, they played each other in four successive Grand Slam mates tests, the first time in the open period that the same two players queried four successive major tests. 

An accident in Williams life:

On June 9, 2017. Williams was driving in Florida, when a car hit her SUV while she was passing through the intersection. That accident killed a 78 year old man and also a man in another car. According to the first hand reports, police blamed Williams, after a month of police investigation reviewing surveillance videos, police admiered that venus was not the cause of the accident.
